Using Home Remedies For Psoriasis Treatment

Using a home remedy for psoriasis, along with traditional psoriasis treatment from your doctor, is a smart way to control your psoriasis and reduce pain, swelling, and itching.  Some home remedies to consider are making topical ointments from common kitchen items, eating a healthy and well balanced diet, and reducing the stress in your life.

A healthy and well-balanced diet can go a long way towards helping to control your psoriasis.  While there isn’t one psoriasis diet that is right for everyone, you should cut down on dairy and meat while increasing your vegetable intake.  Keep a food diet to discover any foods that aggravate your psoriasis symptoms.   Supplement your diet with fish oil or flax seed oil.  These will ensure that you get the necessary essential fatty acids.

The daily items in your kitchen that can be applied directly to the skin can also help relieve the symptoms of your psoriasis.  One popular home remedy for psoriasis is apple cider vinegar.  Add one cup of apple cider vinegar to a gallon of water.  Place a cloth in this mixture and then apply the washcloth on the area that is bothering you.  This can help ease the itching.

Olive oil can be added to your bath or warmed and massaged directly on the scalp.  Vegetable oil will also work for the bath.  Just add a cup to your warm bath water before soaking.  Relax in the bath for up to 20 minutes.

Using a home remedy for psoriasis, along with traditional psoriasis treatment, can help control the condition. Aloe is one home remedy for psoriasis that  research suggests is effective.  The gel from this plant can help clear psoriasis plaques.  Pure aloe vera gel is available from many stores.

You can obtain relief from itching by adding 1 and one-half cups of baking soda to 3 gallons of warm water.  Use a washcloth to apply the solution directly to the affected area and keep it on for a short while.

Eating right and using home made mixtures to help control the itching are important, but don’t forget to keep an eye on your stress level.  Stress can make psoriasis worse.  Incorporate exercise, yoga, or meditation into your everyday routine.
