The Dead Zone

The Dead Zone is a TV series based on the Stephen King novel. The show ran for 6 seasons and is one of my personal favorites. It stars Anthony Michael Hall as Johnny Smith. The basic premise for the show is that Johnny was in love with Sarah played by Nicole de Boer he gets in to a car accident and falls into a comma for six years. When he wakes up she is married to another man and they are raising his son. But, this is where the Dead Zone kicks in. Johnny wakes up with a new ability he can see thing by touching something or someone. He can see things that have happened that will happen. So when he sees these things he goes around trying to help people and to try to stop bad things from happening. And every time he touches something or I guess I should say most times he touches something he gets a vision of things. And then he will do something to change that and the vision changes. The show aired on USA. The show was filmed in Canada. Johnny is often helped by his best friend Bruce who was his physical therapist when he came out of his coma. Bruce is played by actor John L. Adams. Sarah is married to Walt the Sheriff who is played by Chris Bruno. Walt being the Sheriff and all is often involved helping Johnny to figure things out and help him.

Advantages and Disadvantages of 0800 Numbers for Businesses

Choosing business phone numbers is important. You need to get it right to get over the right impression to your customers.

0800 numbers are universally recognised in the UK as being free for the caller. The cost of the call is borne by the receiver.

So why would a company use this type of number if it is costing them money? The main reasons are because more people contact them and so more sales occur.

The numbers have helped thousands of successful businesses and new start-ups to gain customer loyalty and confidence because the perception of their customers is that they are dealing with a professional and customer oriented company.

0800 numbers are non-geographic and so not associated with any particular location. This enables companies to target customers at a national level. Other non-geographical phone numbers are available but they aren’t all free to call.

Consistent communication is a key to success for most businesses and 0800 numbers help with this because the numbers are easily transferable.

So what are the drawbacks? Well the calls aren’t free if people are using mobiles with the increase in mobile phone usage this affects a large proportion of people. Soon there will be more calls from mobiles than landlines and that presents a problem for the apparently free 0800 number. Calls from mobiles can cost the caller up to 20p per minute!

Shockingly, seven out of ten mobile customers using 0800 numbers from their mobile have no idea how much they are actually being charged for the calls. Millions of pounds of revenue are being made by the phone companies from this practice.

Citizens Advice and other consumer organisations are campaigning for calls to 0800 numbers to be “no cost” from mobiles so that the pricing structure finally reverts back to how it was originally designed to be.

Wisconsin Physician Jobs FAQ

Q: Should I hire a lawyer to review my Wisconsin physician employment contract?

A: In general, yes. We are not lawyers and do not give legal advice. We have reviewed many contracts and can provide you with feedback as to what we have seen as standard. The choice of a lawyer is critical. Find someone well versed in medical contract law, as well as the state’s laws in which you will practice. Try to find an attorney recommended by someone else. Also, make sure the attorney has enough time to review the contract in a timely manner. Negotiations could be hampered by a slowed response time.

Q: If I am a resident, when should I decide upon accepting a position?

A: As a general rule, the earlier the better. The more time you have to work on license applications, hospital privileges, finding a new home and moving arrangements, the less stress you’ll encounter. Many hospitals recruit for summer positions in the fall and early winter. Don’t think all of the “good” Wisconsin physician jobs are taken by the end of winter. We assist physicians throughout the year because contract expirations occur throughout the year. Don’t worry. Have confidence that the right position will be available. Call us, we are here to help!

Q: Who handles negotiations, me or my recruiter?

A: Whenever possible, your recruiter should handle negotiations for Wisconsin physician practice opportunities. Having a liaison reduces the potential for heated arguments between two parties. Keep in mind, professional recruiters regularly perform this task.
