Energy Performance Certificates

The Energy Performance Certificate does not include or make reccomended related behaviour changes to the benefit of your energy efficiency and focuses on reccomendations based upon your properties’ current attributes. More information about the domestic energy assessment can be found within our guide.

It is of interest that the government actually officially reccommends changing suppliers to cheaper ones and there have been many organisations and companies formed to compare such prices. Millions of households have already switched suppliers and this will continue in search of reduced costs.

As the issue of rapidly increasing energy prices becomes ever so more costly to the public, now is the time to address not one but all of the points we have spoken about. It is a multi faceted solution if you choose to reduce your energy consumption and ultimately your monthly gas and electric bills.

It can be suprising at the savings that can be made with all or a combination of the following:

  • Turn your thermostat down. Reducing your room temperature by 1 degree °C could cut your heating bills by up to 10 percent. You could save around £40 per year.
  • Is your water too hot? Your cylinder thermostat shouldn’t need to be set higher than 60°C/140°F. A good measure of this is if the water is too hot to hold your hand under, turn the temperature down
  • Close your curtains at dusk to stop heat escaping through the windows, incidentally, this is also reccomended as a security measure.
  • Turn off your lights when you leave a room.
  • Don’t leave appliances on standby and remember not to leave appliances on charge unnecessarily.
  • If you’re not filling up the washing machine, tumble dryer or dishwasher, use the half-load or economy programme.
  • Only boil as much water as you need to (but remember to cover the elements if you’re using an electric kettle).
  • A dripping hot water tap wastes energy and in one week wastes enough hot water to fill half a bath, so fix leaking taps and make sure they’re fully turned off!
  • Use energy saving light bulbs. Just one can save you £60 over the lifetime of the bulb – as they last up to 10 times longer than ordinary lightbulbs.

When You Cant Wait Till Payday, Try a 24 Hour Payday Loan

Some Things Just Cant Wait

Not everyone is made of money, as a matter of fact, the majority of Americans make under $30,000 a year, and out of those, more than 50% live from paycheck to paycheck.

Even though living from paycheck to paycheck is not recommended, it is sadly a way of life for a lot of people. Sometimes you get behind due to some unforeseen incident. But thats where a 24 hour payday loan can come in handy, for thing such as rent, utility bills, medical expenses, food and so forth.

24 hour payday loans are known by several names, like, payday loans, cash advance loans and no fax payday loans. No matter what the name they all share the same basic principle; loans in the fastest possible time. Most will grant you a loan within 24 hours, hence, 24 hour payday loan. Others will give you a certain amount on the spot.

These places of lending are becoming more and more popular. It used to be that the only place to get your paycheck cashed was a bank or a grocery store. But thats not the case any more as there is a 24 hour payday loan store on just about every corner.

Who Qualifies for a Loan?

Through most 24 hour payday loan companies anyone may qualify, as long as you have some kind of banking facility, whether it is a checking or savings account. A checking account is needed if you are looking for an advance in money, but if you just want to cash your paycheck a savings account will do.

Most places will not require a credit check so people with questionable credit, no credit or bad credit will easily qualify for a 24 hour payday loan. Unfortunate people who had to file bankruptcy can also qualify for the loans.

Payback

Like all short-term loans there will be a higher interest rate applied to the loan or you will be charged a fixed amount, depending on how much you borrow. If you are just cashing a paycheck they will take a certain percentage of the face value.

Beware that 24 hour payday loans should only be used for emergencies. If you use these places on a regular basis you will find yourself in a vicious cycle, where youre weekly paycheck will only go towards paying off last weeks loan, leaving you with no money for this week, so you get another loan and the vicious cycle continues.

Back to university Laptop Insurance – Buy the Right Cover

Computer and Laptop usage has now reached record levels, with more and more classrooms being equipped with more and more computer equipment, the use of traditonal text books for written work is on a sharp decline, many students are now expected to have their own Laptops with them in lessons.

these days, much of the so called old fashion written work are replaced with the student typing work directly into their laptops. This can have many advantages, but where an advantage appears, a negative situation will be present. Can you imagine a university with, let’s say 2000 pupels and just for an example, lets say each student|pupel|scholar} has a laptop or notebook valued at five hundred pounds. So now we have 2000 young scholars looking after over £1m worth of laptop and Notebook apparatus!

Now that is starting to sound very expensive for the parents! Especially when you stop and think that every student will be carrying the laptop both to and from School. Just imagine the volumes of loss, theft and Accidental Damage that is going to take place. This could start to get very costly for the parents of the forgetful and careless children of the class.

You can start to imagine some of the storys children will come up with for the reason they have not brought their laptops into School, or indeed, returned home with at the end of the day!

Imagine how children could fail to look after their Notebooks! Swinging the laptop bag around in the air before throwing it 5 metres at their best friend, dropping it down a flight of stairs in the hope it will fail so they have the perfect excuse not to had the home work in on time – I would love to see some of the reasons for claiming accidental damage on peoples Laptop Insurance claim forms!

Now if we move onto loss, can you imagine, over the space of a year how many students loose their Notebooks, left on the train or School bus because their minds were focused on the last text message or new ipod download.

Yet another vital component about loss is not to get it confused with Theft, as they are two totally different factors, especially when it comes down to Laptop Insurance Cover and illegal insurance fraud!

Many people automatically assume that because they have purchased Laptop Insurance Cover they will be covered for loss, only to find when making a claim that loss was not included in the policy. Whilst some people find this out too late, others are aware they are not covered for loss, so they report the laptop as stolen so they can claim on their Laptop Insurance under the theft cover, this practise can then become illegal Insurance fraud, so its always good practice to check the terms and conditions of any insurance policy to make sure you will be covered for the loss of your laptop computer to protect yourself from this situation.

It would be the same rule with Laptop Insurance as well as the same sort of cover you get on say an iPhone Insurance policy, so it really is important as advised above to read the terms and conditions of any prospective insurance policy before you purchase, so to avoid any potential law breaking situation with your insurance company or indeed the Police!
